Ok, we all know where we did well (doing the thing for a start?!) and where we need improvement (judging/voting system, no categorisation etc)......
Guitar Idol 2009 will launch in August 2008 and have several Heats up until March 2009 before final in April 2009 and we intend upon learning from all that we have done...
So let's have some easy bullet points on how to improve it from you all!
Over the next month we will be meeting with commercial companies/tv/media etc to make the Guitar Idol 2009 GREAT - if we have help and input from you all we can try and make sure this time around we have no mistakes!
I personally would like to have proper categories rather than everyone all together: eg: Rock; Metal; Shred/Neo-Classical; Jazz; Fusion (or should Jazz and Fusion be together?); Blues; Country...
We really should have Acoustic as well... or should we?
Or should some of the above not be in...?
Maybe that is too many/not enough categories?
This brings us to things like how do you judge between an amazing country picker and a shred monster?
Some might say that this is the inherent problem in music as 'competitions' - but let's face it the first one proved pretty popular and has helped a lot of people boost their profile and got everyone talking/arguing etc about the guitar so that's only a good thing...right?!
